On Reading John Stott’s Commentary on 2 Timothy

At times I enjoy reading critical commentaries by those in the academy, and then, there are times, I go more for commentaries written by those in the pastorate.

Many people don’t realize that the late John R.W. Stott was a pastor.  He had the heart of a pastor for sure.  The Living Church: Convictions of a Lifelong Pastor is a good reminder.

Now to Stott’s commentary on 2 Timothy.  It’s rich and vivid.  It truly comes from the heart of one who understands the pastorate.

I commend it, especially for those in pastoral ministry.
