On Reading the Institutes of the Christian Religion

With everything else going on in my life, I’ve added Calvin’s Institutes of the Christian Religion to my reading list.  While I’ve read portions of the Institutes here and there, like most, I’ve never really read it in its entirety.  I sort of have avoided it.

Outside of the Bible, if I had the choice of sitting at the feet of one theologian, living or dead, it would have to be John Calvin.  More than anything else, I’ve been drawn to the exegetical genius of the Geneva theologian.

The Institutes of the Christian Religion is a work I’d simply like to become more familiar with.  I’m already in Book One…
