“On Impressing God” by Brennan Manning

Our huffing and puffing to impress God, our scrambling for brownie points, our thrashing about trying to fix ourselves while hiding our pettiness and wallowing in guilt are nauseating to God and are a flat out denial of the gospel of grace.”  –Brennan Manning

Off topic TC, but I thought I’d share this article by Carl Truemen (who I think is the most sensible of the current Reformed ministers/theologians) with you. It’s about a worship experience he experienced at King’s Chapel, Cambridge, UK. He was trying to look through the eyes of a Muslim girl who also attending the liturgy. It should be thought provoking for any evangelical.

Thanks for sharing this. An interesting read, indeed. What I find thought provoking is the Muslim young lady’s apparent participation in the liturgy. Nevertheless, the exposure was seemingly relevant.
