During a recent training exercise, all I could think of were those “one another” passages in the New Testament. Love one another. Forgive one another. Be kind to one another. Be patient with one another. Accept one another.
Picture life with people you have not met before. You come together, to live, share, eat, ride, and do everything else together.
It’s a clash of personalities, values, customs, and everything else. When this happened, all I could think about were those “one another” passages, and how I must live them as a follower of Jesus Christ.
34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” –John 13:34-35
Communal love is our distinguishing mark as followers of Jesus Christ. It’s the living out of 1 Corinthians 13 in community.
We need those “one another” passages.
