I Like the Core Message of Pope Francis I

In his first homily as newly elected Pope, Francis I urged the Roman Catholic Church to focus on the Gospels of Jesus Christ.  But it’s what he says about the cross of Christ that I commend.

“When we walk without the cross, when we build without the cross and when we proclaim Christ without the cross, we are not disciples of the Lord. We are worldly.”  (source, emphasis added)

Here, Pope Francis I reminds me of the Apostle Paul’s cruciform life and ministry, that is, his cross-shaped life and ministry (I have 1 Corinthians 2:1-4 in mind.).
